Wipeout Cancer's Sports Day for Charity - Saturday, July 27th, 2013, Campbell Community CenterWipeout Cancer's Sports Day for Charity is a fun-filled day of volleyball, cycling, and obstacle courses with all net proceeds benefiting cancer organizations focused on patient care. The volleyball format is reverse co-ed 4’s split into six divisions: Junior Girls, Friendship, Lower Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, Take No Prisoners, and Masters. The cycling event is a road ride from Campbell through the scenic South Bay. Various ride options (short, medium, and long) are available. The obstacle course is for the kids (ages 4-12). It’s an opportunity for them to test their fitness and coordination abilities, and “play Wipeout”! All participants will receive lunch and a participant t-shirt. Athleta Esprit de She 5K/10K - Thursday, August 1st, 2013, Palo Alto BaylandsGirls on the Run of Silicon Valley is joining Athleta for their inaugural Esprit de She 5K/10K at 6:15 pm on Thursday, August 1st. This fun, festive event is open to women and girls of all ages and fitness levels. Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley is not a beneficiary of this event. However, Girls on the Run is the national charity partner of the Esprit de She race series, and we're inviting participants to support GOTRSV as SoleMates charity runners. The 5K fee is $35 for adults, $20 for youth 17 years and younger. The 10K fee is $45 for adults, $30 for youth. San Jose Earthquakes 5K/10K Challenge - Sunday, August 18th, 2013, Santa Clara UniversityThe second annual San Jose Earthquakes 5K/10K Challenge is a running race benefiting The San Jose Earthquakes Community Fund - the charitable arm of the San Jose Earthquakes - and The Health Trust. The event features a 10K race, a 5K run/walk and a 1K kids fun run and will take place on Sunday, August 18, 2013. The event will feature a new course this year, taking participants from the Earthquakes current stadium at Santa Clara University, past the construction at the site of the Earthquakes new stadium site in San Jose and back to the Santa Clara University. All racers will enjoy a great race in the morning and are encouraged to attend the Quakes home game against Sporting Kansas City that evening. All participants will receive a t-shirt and the first 300 registrants receive a voucher for the August 18th Quakes vs. SKC game. Remaining participants receive a voucher to one of the Champions League home games following the race. Registration fees range from $20 to $60. Early bird discounts available.
