GOTR Gives Back: Community Service Spotlight

The community impact project is an integral part of the Girls on the Run curriculum where the girls learn about gratitude and their connection to the world around them. Every year, each Girls on the Run team plans and implements a community impact project during their lesson time, which range from planting flowers on school grounds to making cards to send to seniors.


 

September 2016: The Bachrodt GOTR Team collected donated games and toys for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital

The girls on the 2016 Bachrodt Girls on the Run team team decided to support infants and teens facing long hospital stays. "It would be very scary to have to stay in the hospital, so having fun stuff to do would make it easier" said one program participant. Read more...

 

August 2016: The Booksin Elementary GOTR Team Supports the San Jose Animal Care Center

In 2016, the girls on the Booksin Elementary School Girls on the Run team collected blankets, towels, toys and other supplies to donate to the San Jose Animal Care Center. “The girls loved to see what was in the collection boxes,” one of the coaches reports. Read more...
