Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Become a Coach!
Coaching a Girls on the Run or Girls on Track team is an opportunity to do something great for the girls in your community! Our coaches are parents, teachers, and community members who volunteer their time to bring the program to girls in their area.
Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley sites are located throughout Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties, and each site chooses its own days and times that work best for the program. All coaches need to commit to coaching TWICE weekly for the entire program (21 lessons total) and need to plan to attend the end-of-season Girls on the Run 5K (on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Vasona Park in Los Gatos) with their team. Coaching requires a flexible afternoon schedule as all sites meet on weekdays, usually between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Interested in bringing Girls on the Run or Girls on Track to your school? We'd love to work with you to make that happen! Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley is committed to bringing the opportunity to participate in Girls on the Run and Girls on Track to more girls throughout Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties.
Want to give your run or other athletic event you are training for this year even more purpose? Become a Girls on the Run SoleMate Charity Athlete and use the power of running (or swimming or whatever sport moves you!) to make a difference in a girl's life!
